Apple B&B accommodation, near Kerikeri and Bay of Islands
The Bay of Islands is a wonderful holiday destination – enjoyed by international visitors and New Zealanders alike.
It combines being a significant historic site with being one of the most beautiful locations in the world.
Situated on the East Coast of Northland, New Zealand, Russell, Opua, Paihia, Waitangi and Kerikeri all make up part of the Bay of Islands. Each town has it’s own unique culture and lifestyle – from a lifestyle focus and bustle, to a calming historic atmosphere, and the beautiful beaches.
The Bay of Islands is a great base for exploring all of the Far North. To the west is the Waipoua Kauri Forest where you can see Tane Mahuta – a 2000 year old Kauri tree. Known as the ‘Lord of the Forest.’ It towers over the forest, and is a moving sight indeed. To the north is Cape Reinga – the light-house at the tip is where the Pacific ocean and the Tasman sea meet and the place where in Maori legend, the “spirits” depart to return to their ancestral home in Hawaiki. Standing there you feel your own spirit lift as well.
You can find thrilling adventure or perfect peace for your living enjoyment. The unbelievable natural beauty, amazing beaches and a host of islands make for an idyllic aquatic playground and ultimate retreat. As well, you are only a few hours away from the tip of the North Island, Cape Reinga.
Kerikeri, home to Apple B & B, is situated in the heart of the Bay of Islands. The area is internationally renowned for its superb sailing waters and top class blue water fishing.
Kerikeri is the birthplace of the nation with the historic Stone Store and the oldest home in New Zealand at Kemp House. Enjoying a warm subtropical microclimate it is the home of citrus groves, kiwifruit and other orchards, and is famous for its art and crafts.
